The first phase of reopening began in June 2020 with reduced occupancy ceilings. ![]() Over the course of the year, average residential and commercial rents both declined more than 10% in Manhattan, and vacancies surged. Low-income jobs in the retail, transportation, and restaurant sectors were especially affected. By April, hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers were out of work, with lost tax revenues estimated to run into the billions of dollars. The city's public transportation system remained open, but service was substantially reduced. I am also in disbelief to see that people have been asking for this feature since before at least 2014!Ĭan someone PLEASE recommend to me a fitness tracker that allows you to disable tracking? Thank you in advance. The first case of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City was confirmed on March 1, 2020, though later research showed that the novel coronavirus had been circulating in New York City since January, with cases of community transmission confirmed as early as February. Or "disable tracking" for X amount of minutes" and then auto resume. This is a major inconvenience that I cannot disable tracking at times when I know I will be getting a ton of fake steps! It doesn't seem like it would be very hard to have a "disable tracking" button. I routinely need to have GPS up on my phone, or if I am not the driver, I need to use my phone for other things. I have tried removing the Fitbit altogether- this doesn't work as removing the Fitbit from my wrist tends to add even more steps while driving. Additionally, doing this does not remove the extra calories burned or steps leading to further frustration! Also this is a very cumbersome and ridiculous "solution" that doesn't actually work and not acceptable! I have tried adding the "driving" activity but I cannot always take time to do it immediately or note down the exact times. Why is it so difficult to disable tracking? I routinely rack up 1000s of steps daily that I did not actually take, affecting my step count as well as calorie count- the two main reasons that I bought the fitbit in the first place. Imagine my frustration that there is no way to disable tracking during this time. I recently moved to a remote location where I drive up and down a rocky/dirt 2 mile long driveway. I am ready to throw this Fitbit in the trash. ![]()
